Nyasa Big Bullets face Max Bullets

Newly-crowned Presidential Cup champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, will not rest on their laurels as they have a tricky TNM Super League assignment against struggling MTV Max Bullets Wednesday at Kamuzu Stadium.

After fulfilling Wednesday’s fixture, the Super League defending champions have another huge task on Sunday as they face leaders, Silver Strikers, at the same venue.

This means that the People’s Team will play three games in nine days.

Lying on position 10 with 16 points from 10 matches, Bullets have not been consistent.

The previous weekend, Bullets lost 0-1 to Kamuzu Barracks before beating Civo United 2-0 in Lilongwe.

Therefore, the match against Max will certainly be challenging for the Franco Ndawa side which is desperate for maximum points.

Max are yet to win in the league this season.

Bullets Team Manager, Rahim Ishmael, admitted that it will be tough facing Max, a few days after beating Moyale Barracks 4-3 on post-match penalties to win the Presidential Cup on Saturday in Lilongwe.

“We are facing a side that has never won in the league. We need to approach this game in a different way. If we approach this game casually, we will be shocked. We will try as much as possible to win this match. I know fatigue will hit us hard but collecting maximum points is our aim,” Ishmael said.

Bullets will rely on the experienced legs of Chiukepo Msowoya upfront with George Nyirenda and MacFarlen Ngwira expected to dominate the midfield.

In the other camp, Max Bullets Team Manager, James Sindo, was optimistic of getting their first maximum points from the game.

“We have not given up. We have re-assembled after exiting the Carlsberg Cup. What we have done is to encourage the boys because all is not lost,” Sindo explained

The Sedi Boys lost 2-1 to Zolozolo FC on Sunday to bow out of the Carlsberg Cup and pile pressure on coach Trevor Kajawa.

Max Bullets key players are strikers Mayeso Mphanje and Frazer Menyani who used to play for Be Forward Wanderers and Nyasa Big Bullets, respectively.
