80 companies confirmed for Lilongwe Trade Fair

More than 80 companies have confirmed their participation to the maiden Lilongwe Trade Fair which is being organised by the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI).

The fair is expected to be held in Lilongwe from July 22 to 24.

MCCCI Chief Operating Officer, Chimwemwe Luhanga, said foreign companies have also shown interest to attend the event with MCCCI receiving commitments from companies from Tanzania, Kenya and India.

The regional fair will be held under the theme, Enhancing Value Addition Through Innovation.

“We organise events such as these to give an opportunity to entrepreneurs and companies to showcase their products to the wider international community,” Luhanga said.

According to Luhanga, the fair will also include networking for ums for the local and international participants.

“The Chamber undertakes the responsibility to guide businesses in the area that would help them to accelerate their growth locally and internationally,” he said.

Commenting on progress, Luhanga said pavilions have been installed for local and international participants in the Gateway Mall hall with a provision for open spaces at the Gateway mall for those that have exhibitions that cannot be accommodated indoors.
