Super League perennial underachievers, Blue Eagles have completed the signing of Silver Strikers forward, Tizgobere Kumwenda and defender, Wonder Jelemani.
Kumwenda will join Eagles on a season-long deal whereas Jelemani has signed as a free agent.
Eagles Chairperson, Alexander Ngwala, Wednesday confirmed the news about the latest arrivals.
“They are all good players and we believe that they would fit in our team. We have a good team blended with experienced and up-and coming players. Our target is to win the TNM Super League championship and at least one cup,” Ngwala said.
Eagles have also signed Chipiku Premier Division top scorer, Beston Jimu and Samu Banda from Holy Cross.
Eagles have also landed last season’s Carlsberg Cup best goalkeeper, George Tchauya, from Mangochi Police.
Silver General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, said they agreed with the players to look for teams.
Eagles have been boosted by the return of talented midfielder, Micium Mhone, who terminated his contract with South African side, Jomo Cosmos, recently.
Central Region Football Association General Secretary, Bernard Harawa, has since hailed Eagles for signing players from the Chipiku league.
The cops have never won the league since its inception in 1986. Last season, Eagles finished on position four with 54 points, seven behind champions Kamuzu Barracks.
