Nali Group of Companies treated Be Forward Wanderers players to a luncheon on Friday to congratulate them on their triumph in cup competitions.

The event took place at Nali Lodge and Restaurant in Limbe, with the company also presenting a birthday cake to defender Ted Sumani before the main meal.

Several of the club’s officials like board of trustees chairperson Rashid Gaffar, executive committee chairperson George Chamangwana, General Secretary Mike Butao and the coaching panel of Jack Chamangwana, Yasin Osman and Bob Mpinganjira were also in attendance.

One of Nali Group’s directors, Orpa Khoromana, said the company organised the luncheon to join the team in celebrating its success.

Khoromana said her company is ran by managers who are fans of Wanderers and are excited each time the team wins a competition.

“As a family, we are blue inside out. We have always supported this team from the time of our father. And being a Malawian company, we felt it right to celebrate the achievements of a Malawian team that we love so much,” she explained.

Speaking on behalf of the players, seasoned midfielder Joseph Kamwendo, thanked Nali Group for the treat, saying it would inspire the players to achieve more in the new season.

Kamwendo said it was important for the team’s supporters to find more ways of motivating the players for them to keep playing well.

“We are very grateful to Nali Group for the sumptuous meal prepared for us. This can only motivate us to do better in the new season. It is pleasing to dine and wine with our team officials and Nali’s top management. We are really thankful,” he said.

The team won the Carlsberg and the Fisd Challenge cups in the course of last season and a bus in the Luso TV Bus Ipite Bonanza in the first week of the off season break.

The Nomads went on to achieve more success in the Wafawafa Bonanza final at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe with a 2-0 beating of Super League champions, Kamuzu Barracks.
