After a two-week break, the Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League– the country’s biggest regional netball league—returns this morning at Blantyre Youth Centre court.
The action was expected to throws off with a cracker between runaway leaders, Kukoma Diamonds and rivals Tigresses in the last of the four games on the menu.
However, the league’s General Secretary, Annie Hanjahanja, announced yesterday that the game was postponed due to the death of Tigresses Coach Peace Chawinga- Kalua’s brother.
Diamonds, whose morale was boosted by a donation of cooking oil from their sponsor on Thursday, sit pretty on top with 48 points, six points adrift of Tigresses.
Nonetheless, other games will still be played from this morning.
In the opener, Young Professionals meet Gerald Tasaukadala at 10:30 am before paving the way for Chilomoni Sisters’ date against Shizaella Queens.
Sparks are expected to fly as Thunder Queens line up against Alliance Capital Stars in the last game of the day.
