Malawi National Football Team midfielder, Gerald Phiri Junior, has completed his loan move from BidVest Wits to Platinum Stars in the South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League.
Phiri has joined Stars until the end of the current season, according to www.kick-off.com.
The former Be Forward Wanderers’ midfielder, who also holds a South African Residence Permit, is expected to be registered in time for the league game against Wits at Royal Bafokeng stadium on Saturday.
Stars’ General Manager, Senzo Mazingisa, confirmed the capture of the winger.
“He has joined us until the end of the season. We are currently busy with his papers so that we register him very soon,” Mazingisa said.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been lacking game time at Wits comparing to his compatriot, Gabadihno Mhango.
Phiri was loaned out to Botswana Premier league side, Township Rollers, after signing a two-year deal with Wits.
Wits signed Phiri from the Zimbabwean side, Caps United. At Stars, Phiri will join Flames’ veteran, Robert Ng’ambi.
