Tnm Chief Commercial Officer, Daniel Makata, is satisfied with progress made in golf development in the country.

Makata said this on Sunday during a golf tournament which the company organised at Mulanje Golf club.

“Of late, we have seen Malawians actively participating in tournaments here at home and abroad, so as a company we are really satisfied with how golf is developing. Of course, there is always room for improvement and as a Malawian company, we remain committed to ensuring that the game reaches greater heights,” Makata said.

He cited the participation of Malawi at Zone VI tournament in Swaziland and an increase of female golfers as a clear indication that Malawi is moving ahead.

Makata then reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continue sponsoring various sporting activities in the country, including golf.

“As a Malawian company, we have the needs of our customers at heart and we would like to state here that we will continue supporting sporting activities in the country, including golf, as it offers us a platform to interact with our customers,” he said.

Carol Banda emerged the champion in the women’s category, while Charles Mukiwa was the champion in the men’s category.

They both received a trophy.

The tournament was held under the auspices of TNM Business Services, the company’s division that offers broadband internet services.

The mobile service provider also successfully sponsored an invitational golf tournament at Kasasa Golf Club and a ladies’ golf tournament in NKhotakota and Blantyre Golf clubs, respectively.
