I enjoy beating giants— Kamuzu Barracks coach

Kamuzu Barracks (KB) coach, Billy Phambala, says his side is slowly developing a giant- killing instinct after beating Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 at Civo Stadium on Saturday.

The soldiers started the season on a low when they went four straight games without a victory.

However, Phambala changed the team’s fortunes in recent games.

In a post-match interview after beating Bullets, Phambala lauded his side’s character in big games, warning that his charges would be a hard nut to crack this season.

“I always enjoy beating some of the so-called big teams.

KB will finish the first round with a fixture against Wanderers.

On Saturday, experienced forward Harvey Nkacha grabbed the only goal for KB to rub more salt on Bullets’ wounds.

Nkacha and Davie Banda have been influential players for KB in crucial games this season.

“Slowly, we are building a stronger KB side. The so-called big teams will not find it easy beating us. I want to show them that we also deserve some respect because we are also giants,” he added.

KB also thrashed Blue Eagles 4-1 and drew 0-0 against Silver Strikers last month.

Following the victory over Bullets, the soldiers have moved to position three on the log table with 22 points from 14 games.

Eagles lead the pack with 25 points from 11 games followed by Silver on 23 points from the same number of games.
