Presidential mimickers Atcheya, Mr Malawi and Aunt Getion Sunday took time out to express concerns with the albino killings in the country.
The trio voiced out their concerns during their performances at Bangwe Weaving Factory in Blantyre during a show organised by A Bengo Theatre for Edutainment led by poet Hudson Chamasowa and comedians Che Muthinda and Mologeni.
“Albinos have a right to life, why are we killing them? Please stop this forthwith because once you are caught, you will rot in prison. Let us all unite to fight these albino killings, what have become of my beloved Malawi?” said Atcheya real name Frank Naligonje, who imitates Bakili Muluzi.
Snowden Tembo whose real name is Mr Malawi, who imitates late Bingu wa Mutharika said people should stand up and help the police in apprehending those killing albinos in the country.
Aunt Geti, who mimics Joyce Banda and his real name, is Kenwood Sambalika said the albino killings need to be dealt forthwith and called on different stakeholders including churches to take up a leading role in the fight.
Persons with albinism in the country are currently experiencing different atrocities such as abductions and killings.
Meanwhile the country yesterday joined the rest of the world in commemorating the International Albinism Awareness Day running under the theme Together we must stop violations against persons with Albinism.
Several other artists have come out to express concerns with the albino killings with among others musicians Ben Mankhamba and Great Angels Choir releasing singles on the issue.
The show at Bangwe attracted an impressive audience and saw people appreciating the different talents on the day which also included poetry which came from poets among them Wamtali Savala Gogoda, Amfumu Kenneth Khondiwa, Joseph Madzedze, Chamasowa and Raphael Sitima.

One of the fans Gilbert Tembo hailed the group for holding a show at Bangwe Weaving Factory for the first time saying it gave them a chance to appreciate some of the talents.
“Some of us cannot afford to go as far as Robins Park on Blantyre Cultural Centre because we do not have enough but we are happy that A Bengo Theatre for Edutainment considered us and we hope they will continue doing so,” said Tembo.
