There was pomp and funfair along the streets of Malawi’s commercial capital, Blantyre on Wednesday when members of staff of British-American Investments Company Limited (Britam) alongside the Malawi Police brass band paraded to mark the official launch of the company.
The development comes as a result of the 2014 acquisition of majority stakes of Real Insurance Kenya by Britam.
Speaking during the event, Britam Malawi Chief Executive Blantyre City Mayor Noel Chalamanda hailed the launch of Britam, saying the economy needs strong players in all sectors to enhance competition. In the picture, Chalamanda pops champagne to mark the official launch of the company.
