Big Bullets GS excuses himself from player’s transfer

Nyasa Bullets Interim General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, has excused himself from the possible transfer of promising striker Misheck Botomani from Mitra Icons to the People’s Team.

Chigoga, who owns Southern Region Premier Division side, Mitra Icons, through his research firm Market Insights Tracking, was recently incorporated into Bullets’ interim Executive Committee.

Now the Bullets GS finds himself in conflict of interest over the imminent transfer to Bullets of Botomani, who hammered 44 goals for Mitra last season.

Chigoga confirmed that he does not want to be involved in the deal.

“I know the deal is important to both teams. To ensure transparency, I will not be involved. At Mitra Icons, I set up an Executive Committee and they will discuss the fee. Similarly, at Bullets, our Chairperson [Noel Lipipa] and some officials are in the forefront negotiating with other teams to sign new players,” he said.

Chigoga added that he will manage to split his allegiance between Bullets and Mitra.
