Many golfers participated in this year’s Kingfisher Insurance Brokers and Consultants Limited golf tournament at Nchalo Golf Club on Saturday.
Despite other competitions taking place on the same day in Blantyre and Lilongwe, the Nchalo tournament attracted 69 out of 72 invited golfers, representing 95.8 percent turnout.
Kingfisher Managing Director, Henry Sisya, described the turnout as impressive.
“The response has been excellent. We value golf tournaments because they offer us an opportunity to mingle with our clients and listen to their needs, so that we design tailor-made solutions,” Sisya explained.
“Our first responsibility is to serve the interests of our clients. We also strive to reduce premiums by combining different types of insurance accounts, to save client’s time and money.”
During the tournament, Ronwell Malikita ended his five-year trophy drought to claim the championship in the men’s category, whereas Roza Mbilizi defended the ladies’ championship for three years in a row.
Malikita, who walked away with a trophy and a defy chest freezer, won with 35 points, whereas Mbilizi won with 26 point to receive a defy cooker and a trophy.
Mbilizi said she was happy to dominate the competition for three straight years.
“As of now, as a member of Blantyre Sports Club, we are getting quite a good number of new ladies coming and that is encouraging,” Mbilizi said.
