ONE OF THE FAVOURITES FOR THE AWARD—Chiukepo

Nyasa Big Bullets senior players, Chiukepo Msowoya and Fischer Kondowe, have emerged as hot contenders for the club’s player of the season award.

Bullets host a red carpet gala Friday at Comesa Hall in Blantyre to reward outstanding players in various categories.

The club’s fans have been voting for their best players through various platforms.

Bullets Senior Business Manager, Kelvin Moyo, said voting was open but indications were high that either Msowoya or Kondowe would win the top award.

Moyo said goalkeepers Rabson Chiyenda and Ernest Kakhobwe are competing for the best custodian award whereas Yamikani Fodya, John Lanjesi and Bashir Maunde are in contention for best defender accolade.

Mike Mkwate, Nelson Kangunje and Kondowe have been shortlisted for best midfielder award whereas Msowoya, Bright Munthali and Patrick Phiri have been nominated for the striker’s accolade.

“We are very happy that Bullets fans have shortlisted their favourites players to compete in our first-ever gala awards. It seems supporters are up for veterans because despite Fischer not playing many games towards the end of last season, he is receiving more votes alongside Chiukepo,” Moyo said.

“It is good that our supporters have expressed their right to vote for the players they want to win the awards. We encourage them to keep on voting,” he said.

Msowoya won the 2018 TNM Super League Golden Boot award with 16 goals. Bullets won the Super League with 71 points.
