TNM Super League clubs Be Forward Wanderers, Moyale Barracks and TN Stars have welcomed their head coaches and players who were part of Malawi under-23 national football team’s Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying campaign.
Wanderers Coach Bob Mpinganjira, Moyale’s Charles Kamanga and TN Stars’ Meke Mwase have been absent from their clubs for three months due to national team’s engagements.
The national team assignments involved players such as Dennis Chembezi, Francis Mkonda and Isaac Kaliati for Wanderers, Silver Strikers’ Brighton Munthali, Trevor Kalema, Hadji Wali and Levison Maganizo, Bullets’ Rabson Chiyenda, Patrick Phiri and Hassan Kajoke
The junior Flames started camp training in January ahead of the under-23 Afcon qualifying matches against Zambia, who won 2-0 over two legs to sail through.
Kamanga said he believes that his colleagues were taking care of Moyale in his absence.
“I have been away for a long time but my colleagues were doing a good job, evidenced by the fact that they won a pre-season trophy recently,” he said.
