FLASHBACK—Mbvundula reads a story last year

Story Ink Africa is calling for story submissions ahead of the first storytelling session to be held next month.

Spearheaded by writers Ekari Mbvundula and Wonawaka Gondwe, the story telling sessions— which, last year, were being held at Jacaranda Cultural Centre (JCC) in Blantyre and Story Club in Lilongwe—are now being driven by Story Ink Africa.

Mbvundula said last year that they registered the sessions under Story Ink Africa as one way of showing that they have made progress.

“Story Ink Africa is the official name of the team behind storytelling sessions. We are continuing the work of promoting stories in new and exciting ways,” Mbvundula said.

Last year, writers read stories that played around with various themes, as arranged by organisers.

The sessions also saw veterans such as Desmond Dudwa Phiri, popularly known as DD Phiri, and Benedicto Wokoma-atani Malunga taking part.

Next month’s activity will be held under the theme In My Feelings.

The deadline for receiving stories is January 27 2019.
