Soldier Lucius Banda on Saturday took advantage of the Carlsberg Beerfest at Lilongwe Golf Club to announce that Zimbabwean female singer Ammara Brown of the ‘Akiliz’ fame will perform at the same venue on December 22.
Lucius said they were tasked by Masters Security to organise the show for them which will be an early Christmas gift to the people.
“I would like to take this opportunity to announce that Ammara Brown will be back on December 22 at the same venue alongside other local artists and we also have Master KG from South Africa,” he said.
Apart from Ammara Brown and Master KG, Lucius said he will be part of the lineup alongside Dan Lu, Nepman, and Sam Smak.
“Ammara came to Sand Music Festival in Salima in October but some people did not make it and now they have a chance to see her just at a low fee of K5,000,” he said.
The ‘Mabala’ star, who had time to perform with his son Johnny during the Carlsberg Beerfest, also took time out to celebrate the release of Jamaican dance hall reggae star Mark Anthony Myrie—popularly known as Buju Banton.
He has been released from a federal prison in Georgia.
The federal Bureau of Prisons updated its inmate locator to show that he was released last Friday from the McRae Correctional Facility in Georgia, according to CNN.
Banton was convicted of federal drug charges in February 2011 for illegal possession of a firearm and conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute.
He was sentenced to 10 years, a prison term his attorneys appealed to be reduced a year later, citing his “limited participation” in the drug operation that led to his December 2009 bust.
Banton is one of the most well-known reggae artists in Jamaica, where he is considered a big name in the same genre of music that features icons such as Bob Marley.
