Malawi under – 20 national netball team Coach, Christina Mkwanda-Nsinji, believes that her side has the potential to win a medal at the on-going African Union Sports Council Region Five Games in Botswana.
After a shaky start when the side lost 48-38 to South Africa, the junior Queens made amends when they beat Lesotho
60-30 on Friday and Zambia 56-32 on Sunday.
“We are still in contention for a medal. We lost that game because we did not rest, having spent two days on the road. The games are tough but the players are eager to do well. So, we are still in medal contention,” Mkwanda-Nsinji said.
Netball Association of Malawi General Secretary, Carol Bapu, said she was optimistic that youthful p layers would soon graduate and play for the senior Queens.
