BY WILLIAMS GONDWA:

Former Nyasa Big Bullets forward Muhammad Sulumba has parted ways with South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) side, Polokwane City.

Sulumba, who scored just once last season, confirmed his Polokwane exit.

“It is true that I have parted ways with Polokwane. It was nice being here. I have learnt a lot of things at this club. I have been assured by my manager that he is looking for another club but, if it does not work out, I will return home.

“I think it is part of life. I had hope that the club would extend my contract but the coach seems not interested in me. I will wait for my manager to tell me the way forward,” he said.

Sulumba joined Polokwane on a six-month deal from Bullets in June last year, with an option of having his contract extended based on performance.

But the former Be Forward Wanderers and Blantyre United striker endured a difficult spell at Polokwane where he was mostly on the substitutes’ bench.

The striker has left Polokwane a month after the club hired Slovakian Jozef Vukusic as coach to replace demoted Bernard Molekwa.

The Slovakian has signed seven players, including Muhammed Anas from Freee State Stars.

Meanwhile, Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Fleetwood Haiya, has reserved his comment on the prospect of reuniting with Sulumba.

The remaining Malawians in the PSL are Robin Ngalande, who is on the books of Baroka, Gerald Phiri Junior, Gabadinho Mhango (Bidvest Wits), Limbikani Mzava (Golden Arrows), Robert Ng’ambi (clubless) and Atusaye Nyondo (Blomfontein Celtic).
