TNM Super League holders, Be Forward Wanderers, hope that defender-cum-midfielder, Precious Sambani, will return to the team’s fold this week.

Since his return from South Africa where he had a grand performance for the Flames during the Cosafa Cup, Sambani has not featured for Wanderers in four games.

On Saturday, Sambani refused to comment on why he did not travel with Wanderers to the Central Region to play against Kamuzu Barracks and Blue Eagles in league games.

He was spotted at Chilomoni Stadium in Blantyre, watching FMB Under-20 League games.

“There are some issues but I cannot comment through the media,” he said.

However, Wanderers Vice- Chairperson, Allan Chuma, said Sambani will return to the side this week.

“Every player, just like any employee, is entitled to a leave. Just like you [reporter] you can also rest due to some circumstances. If Sambani hasn’t been playing, we know the reasons and for sure, this week, he will be with us,” he said.

Wanderers have admitted battling against a huge wage bill and recently some players, including Dan Kumwenda and Peter Cholopi, threatened to terminate their contracts over unpaid signing-on fees.
