Big Bullets coach happy to silence critics

Nyasa Big Bullets Coach, Rodgers Yasini, believes the team’s 2-0 win over Masters Security in the TNM Super League on Sunday has ended criticisms of his coaching panel over poor performance.

Striker Chiukepo Msowoya and midfielder Chimango Kayira scored a goal in each half for Bullets at Mulanje Park Stadium to ease the pressure on the coaches, following successive draws against Mzuni and, Karonga United.

“We haven’t lost any game in the league and besides, we are still on top of the league. I don’t know why people were talking much but I am happy that we have silenced them,” Yasini said.

Masters Coach, Abasi Makawa, whose team returned from the Southern Region with one point after Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Nchalo United, rued missed chances.

“We conceded silly goals and failed to convert our chances [into goals]. It is painful to return home with a point but, when we go back to our training sessions, we will work on the problems we have noticed in this game,” Makawa said.

Bullets, who top the league’s log table with 21 points from nine games, have opened up a five-point gap from second-placed Silver Strikers, who have played six games. Masters are on position 13 with eight points from 10 games.
