Four Blue Eagles volleyball teams are expected to leave for Lusaka this afternoon to participate in Zambia Invitational Volleyball Tournament.

The competition throws off Friday and ends on Sunday.

Making the trip will be youth and senior teams in the men’s and ladies categories.

Coach for Eagles’ youth and ladies teams, Peter Pemba, said competing in the tournament will prepare them for various tournaments that are on this year’s calendar.

“There are several tournaments on the local and international calendar between now and next year. Performing well in such events requires thorough preparations and we believe the trip to Zambia will make a big difference,” Pemba said.

He said the goal of the trip is to help turn Eagles’ teams into competitive entities for international tournaments.

Eagles Ladies’ senior side will not be playing outside the country for the first time as they represented Malawi at last year’s Zone VI Senior Volleyball Club Championship in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where they lost all three games .
