Nyasa Big Bullets Coach, Rodgers Yassin, believes his team has a long way to go before meeting his expectations.
Bullets have been in sparkling form this season as they are undefeated in six TNM Super League games after winning five and drawing once.
The People’s Team also beat Moyale Barracks 1-0 in the Airtel Top 8 quarter-final first-leg match.
Despite the rich vein of form, Yassin said his coaching panel is not yet fully impressed with the performance.
“People might be saying that Bullets is the team of the moment but we are far from where we want the team to be. There are many areas we need to work on before I can openly say ‘this is the team we were building’. We have to work on scoring. We don’t need to rely on a few players to score. Every player has to score and defend,” Yassin said.
In recent games, Chiukepo Msowoya, Bright Munthali and Patrick Phiri have been the team’s regular scorers.
Usually, Bullets struggle to score in the first-half, but the team delivers the goods in the final stanza.
Bullets have also been rock solid at the back, as they have conceded two goals only in league games.
“There is unity in the team among the technical panel, Executive Committee and the players. You cannot achieve results if there are divisions. So, that has been our secret,” Yassin said.
The People’s Team travel to Mzuzu this weekend for a return leg against Moyale in the Airtel Top 8.
