The Ministry of Finance has said the pre-budget meetings it has so far conducted have been a success.
Pre-budget meetings are conducted annually by the ministry to solicit views from various sections of society to be included in the formulation of the country’s financial budget.
“We had positive contributions from a wide section of the Malawi society including people in rural areas, civil society, academia, religious institutions, farmers and professional bodies.
“The exercise has given the Ministry of Finance a picture of what Malawians want to be included in the forthcoming budget,” Ministry of Finance Spokesperson Davis Sado said.
Sado further said the ministry also engaged the youth to guide the government on what youth programmes should be included in the budget.
