Call it Shalom Palace

Monarchy Square in Blantyre has changed its name to Shalom Palace.

Manager Henry Mwale confirmed the development Monday.

“It’s no longer Monarchy Square because the place has new owners, who are very keen to promote the creative industry in the country,” Mwale said.

Shalom Palace, which has, among other things, conference facilities, is also refurbishing its amphitheatre.

The amphitheatre will play host to music performances and other engagements.

“The amphitheatre will be open to live music shows, weddings and other activities,” he said.

The proprietors of Shalom Palace are Tahit Networks headed by Michael Kasinja.

“With artists having challenges with venues, this will bridge this gap. The good thing is that we also have other facilities including a restaurant,” Mwale said.
