Permit delays Dalitso Sailesi debut

FLAMES attacking midfielder, Dalitso Sailesi, continues the long wait for his Zambian Super League debut as his club, Lusaka Dynamos, is yet to finalise his work permit.

Speaking in an interview from the Zambian capital, Lusaka, Sailesi said he expects his permit to be out next month, in time for the kickoff of the league’s second round.

“My team has completed its first round games and I can only feature in the second round. I am still waiting for my work permit, which I believe will be out by the time the second round kicks off,” the former Nyasa Big Bullets slippery winger said.

Sailesi explained that he is adapting well to the standards of Zambian football, which he said is more advanced than Malawi’s. He said while waiting for the permit to be finalized, he has been working hard in the gym and at the training ground to maintain his fitness levels.

“The coach wants me to be ready for action as soon my permit is ready. The competition here is very stiff. The club has over 40 players and it’s not easy to earn a place in the lineup,” Sailesi said.

Dynamos are third on the table with 42 points from 23 matches. The former Blantyre United player signed a 5-year deal with Lusaka Dynamos from the People’s Team after shining for the Flames at the Cosafa Cup tournament in June.

He won two man-of-the-match accolades at the regional tournament despite the Flames failing to go beyond the group stages.
