Stansfield Motors Limited has launched a ‘SelecTruct’ division dealing in quality used trucks sourced from Mercedes Benz South Africa.
Speaking at the official handover ceremony of the 11 pre-owned Mercedes Benz Axor Trucks to Ninkawa Transport, General Manager for Daimler brands in Malawi, Ian Bartlett, said the newly established Stansfield SelecTruck division offers affordable and certified used right hand drive trucks in Malawi.
“We can present the best economic efficiency in terms of total cost of ownership in the competitive interrelationships in value chain. The used-vehicle business is one of the most important aspects in the value chain,” he said.
Stansfield SelecTruck Business Development Manager, Shamash Surtee, said the current truck imports from USA and Europe will soon be problematic since they are made to operate using high quality diesel that cannot be sourced in Malawi, causing eventual injector and engine failure.
Director of Operations at Ninkawa Transport, Reshma Mahomed, expressed satisfaction with the general condition and quality of the trucks.
“This will serve our company in the right way for the growing demands of our business,” she said.
