Youth Action in Malawi targets HIV+ youth

Youth Action in Malawi (Yam), a non-governmental organisation based in Rumphi, has reiterated its commitment to reaching out to youths, especially those who are HIV positive.

Yam Executive Director, Bright Mfune, said in an interview that they have secured piglets which will be distributed to youths living with HIV in Mhuju Zone, Rumphi, after multiplication.

Mfune said American Peace Corps volunteer, Alena Morris, donated piglets and tree seedlings meant for distribution to farmers who are living upland, thereby avoiding soil erosion.

“We thank her for the material support rendered and we appeal to other charitable organisations and individuals to help us meet our objectives,” Mfune said.

Rumphi District Youth Officer, Twesa Mwamlima, hailed Yam for reaching out to the youth, saying the donations would help improve living standards among youths.
