Nico Group, through Nico Holdings Limited, donated K4.5 million to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday.
The money is to contribute to the media aspect of the regional conference which starts today.
Nico Holdings Managing Director, Vizenge Kumwenda, said Nico Group made the donation considering that corruption is an issue that needs to be addressed.
“We thought this is an important event for us to be associated with. We felt we need to join the leadership in the fight against
the problem,” Kumwenda said.
He further said that the company believes in doing business in a “fraud, and corruption-free” country.
“As a group, we have fraud policies that are aimed at ensuring that, as a company, we ensure that we don’t allow that problem [corruption] to infest our company,” Kumwenda added.
The regional conference will have heads of anti-corruption bodies from different countries for over three days.
ACB Director General, Lucas Kondowe, thanked Nico Group for the donation and called on everyone to assist in corruption fight.
