Five people, who were arrested on suspicion that they forged Chifundo Charity Shield tickets in Lilongwe, have pleaded guilty to the charges.
Adam Elias, Innocent Jafali, Peter Minofu, Enock Mapundi and Weston Garnert are answering charges of forgery and altering documents.
The suspects appeared before the Lilongwe Senior Resident Magistrate, Benjamin Chulu, on Wednesday.
According to court documents, the suspects pleaded guilty to the charges.
Court documents indicate that the matter was adjourned to another day for narration of facts.
The suspects are still remanded at Maula Prison in Lilongwe.
During the Chifundo Charity Shield match involving TNM Super League champions, Kamuzu Barracks and Nyasa Big Bullets, Minofu and Garnet were arrested for allegedly being found in possession of counterfeit tickets.
Last year, counterfeit tickets were also uncovered during the Charity Shield at Civo Stadium, forcing Football Association of Malawi (Fam) to set up a commission of inquiry, whose findings were never released.
Fam and Central Region Football Association officials were implicated in the Police preliminary report but the matter died a natural death.
During the Wafawafa Big Four Bonanza at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, two suspects were also arrested on similar offences but they were released on bail.
