Malawi netball legend, Mary Waya, is among six coaches Civonets have earmarked for the post of head coach.
Civonets Assistant Coach, Whyte Mulilima, former Civonets shooter, Sibongile Moyo and Civonets Team Manager, Theresa Chipolopolo, have also been shortlisted for the interviews.
The post fell vacant following the death of Connis Mhone last January.
Initially, the interviews were scheduled for last week but they were shifted them due to logistical requirements.
Civonets Chairperson, Matilda Chibwe, though reluctant, confirmed to have shortlisted six coaches, including Waya, for the interviews.
“Of course, we have shortlisted some coaches, including Mary Waya,
Mulilima, our team manager and Sibongile for the interviews which will be held later this month,” she said.
Waya said Civonets have not contacted her about the interviews.
“It is news to me. Anyway, I will comment when they officially approach me,” she said.
Currently, Waya coaches Southern Region netball side, Alliance Capital Stars.
