After hosting a play Sizwe Bansi Is Dead by actors Misheck Mzumara and Thlupego Chisiza for the first time the previous weekend, HS Winehouse in Blantyre was at it again on Good Friday giving people music and comedy.
It was a night that saw musician Agorosso sharing the stage with comedians Ching’aning’ani and Thembwelembwe.
Ching’aning’ani and Thembwelembwe is the duo of Tame Muwawa and John Suwedi.
The duo impressed with their jokes which sent people into stitches.
“We are happy to have been engaged. This is the first time for us to perform here. This is a different audience. We just want to call upon event organisers to utilise us, this is what we do,” said Nthembwelembwe.
Even after finishing off their performance, the duo joined the audience in dancing to Agorosso’s music.
Agorosso performed for a long time offering his songs as well as renditions of songs originally done by other artists.
The sizeable audience enjoyed the performances and some of them even took time out to play backing vocals to support Agorosso.
There was also a t ime when Muhanya, who was not part of the performances on the night stepped into the building with his guitar and the audience called for him to perform.
The singer and guitarist had no choice but to oblige.
The show culminated into a jam session at the end.
“We are excited with the performances tonight. This is just to let people know that we will be having different activities every Friday. Last weekend we had a play and this time we have music and comedy so people should watch the space,” actor Mphundu Mjumira said.
