Central Region Volleyball League (CRVL) has accepted the resignation of Chairperson, Robert White and has elevated Vice Chairperson Wanangwa Gausi to serve as interim chairperson.

White threw in the towel recently, citing poor working relationship with some of the league’s officials.

Ironically, White retained his position unopposed after announcing earlier that he would not contest.

In a letter, CRVL Vice General Secretary, Shupikai Nyirenda, said White insisted on resigning.

“It is with great sadness that the Central Region Volleyball League announces that the league has accepted the resignation of Mr Robert White who was the Chairperson of CRVL,” Nyirenda wrote.

White resigned on February 17 after serving two terms for the league which is considered the stronghold of domestic volleyball.

Sempha Investments sponsors the league, comprising teams such as Blue Eagles and Kamuzu Barracks, to the tune of K3 million.
