Blantyre-based businessman, Juventus Flao, has emerged the overall winner of a promotion National Bank of Malawi (NBM) was running to encourage the bank’s customers to use Visa Card when paying for purchases.
Flao went home with a four-day all expenses paid trip to Mauritius.
Flao emerged the winner after beating other NBM customers in the usage of Visa cards and point of sale devices between December 8, 2016 and March 31, 2017.
“It is a very exciting moment for me,” Flao said.
NBM Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mac Fussy Kawawa, said the promotion was introduced to encourage the use of Visa Cards and to help move Malawi into a cashless society.
“As NBM, we want to be a catalyst to help accelerate the adoption of a cashless society in the country,” Kawawa said.
He also said that the bank is happy with the excitement the promotion has generated.
The bank also presented consolation prizes to customers as well as members of staff
