Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has banned Nyasa Big Bullets fan, Beleti ‘Billy One’ Severe, for three years for alleged violent conduct.
Severe is accused of allegedly assaulting Sam Madula, the then Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Youth, Sports and Manpower Development, at Bingu National Stadium on January 2.
Bullets have since been warned for failing to control their supporters while also being charged with the responsibility to ensure Severe’s compliance with the ban.
Madula earned Severe’s wrath when attempting to stop the fan from entering the VIP section of the stadium during the Luso TV Bus Ipite Bonanza second leg match between Bullets and eventual winners, Be Forward Wanderers.
“On being found guilty of failing to take precautionary measures to control their supporters from displaying unsporting behaviours; NMC Big Bullets FC is seriously warned against committing the same offence in the near future as per section Two article 13 of Fam disciplinary code,” reads a statement from the association.
“Mr Billy Severe is hereby banned from entering any stadium hosting association football in Malawi for three years as per section 2 Article 21 of Fam Disciplinary Code.
“Mr Billy Severe is hereby banned from taking part in any football related activities for three years as per section Two Article 22 of Fam Disciplinary Code.”
