Silver Strikers loan out seven players

After unveiling 10 new players last week, Silver Strikers have loaned out seven others to various clubs, the team’s General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, has confirmed.

“We felt that some of the players would struggle for game-time. At the same time, there were some clubs who expressed interest in them and we agreed to loan them out for a season. All the players that have been loaned out will have a chance to come back if they impress,” Nyirenda said.

Among the notable players loaned include Nation Harazi, Chimwemwe Chisambi (to Kamuzu Barracks), Evance Kaonga, Wonder German (to Dwangwa United) and Wilson Magombo to Mafco FC.

Nyirenda added that two more players will be loaned before the start of the season, but he refused to disclose their identities.

“We will register a squad of 30 players and we still have some players who will be sent on loan,” he added.

Last week, Silver unveiled new players including Mphatso Chimtondo, Hygiene Mwandepeka, Trevor Kalema, Paul Chikalema, Frank Chizuze, Mike Tetteh (from Ghana) and Yinusa Olanrewaju (Nigeria).

Silver also released midfielder Sam Gunda at the end of his contract and the player has since joined Master Security FC.
