CDH Investment Bank will over the weekend be celebrating five years of doing business in Malawi. The bank was officially opened in 2012 after operating as a discount house for 15 years.

In a statement, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Misheck Esau, said as part of its anniversary celebrations, the bank has committed the month of April to creating impact through various corporate social responsibility initiatives.

“The celebrations will be held under the theme, Five Years of Innovative Banking. We want to thank our customers for making our progress possible,” he said.

Esau said the bank owes its success to commitment from staff members and Malawians who have supported the bank since it started its operations.

“To others, the five years may seem like a short period of time, but to us it is very exciting as we came into the banking industry at a time when the economy was facing various challenges. Through our valued customers, and a committed team of staff members, we have managed to progress and grow,” he said.

Looking forward, Esau said CDHIB will continue to be focused and strive to be a leader in provision of innovative financial services.

“Our focus will still remain to bring international investment capital to ordinary Malawians and businesses,” he said.
