Nyasa Big Bullets Coach, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan, has pleaded with Super League of Malawi (Sulom) to consider extending the domestic player transfer window, taking advantage of the uncertainty surrounding the 2017 season’s kick off.
The transfer window is expected to close this Friday, but Ramadhan said the deadline should be extended.
“Since we are in the dark regarding the kickoff of the season, I would like to request the authorities to consider extending the transfer deadline so that teams should not be forced into panic buys. I am not undermining the authorities. I am simply requesting them to consider our plea,” he said.
It is not surprising that Ramadhan is calling for an extension of the deadline as the People’s Team has struggled to sign their top targets.
Bullets re-signed midfielder, Chimango Kayira and also poached Misheck Botomani from Premier Division side, Mitra Icons.
However, Bullets missed out on versatile midfielder, Yamikani Chester, who opted to sign for Be Forward Wanderers after resigning from Azam Tigers.
Ramadhan wants three players before the transfer deadline.
“I want at least a goal poacher because we have not yet replaced Chiukepo Msowoya since he left for South Africa. I also want an attacking midfielder to cover up for Mike Mkwate who is still injured. I also want a defender,” he said.
Bullets finished third in the just ended Wafawafa Big Four Bonanza behind champions Be Forward Wanderers and runners-up Kamuzu Barracks.
Bullets lost to Wanderers 1-0 on Saturday at Bingu National Stadium when Chester came off the bench to silence the People’s Team.
On Sunday, Bullets struggled against Silver Strikers in a third-place play-off before edging out the Bankers 5-4 on post-match penalties.
