Ecobank has reaffirmed its commitment to provide digital financial solutions to customers.
The bank’s Managing Director, Charles Asiedu, said this in Blantyre at the weekend when the bank launched a Mobile application and a Masterpass QR.
According to Asiedu, the applications will help Ecobank customers to access the bank’s services faster and at their convenience.
“Digital platforms help to transform life as it is quick, easy and allows customers to track their cash. To be able to use the service, the consumer just needs to have a mobile phone,” Asiedu said.
He, therefore, called on people in the country to embrace the new innovations which are currently operational in 33 countries the bank operates in.
“The applications will leverage the power of mobile devices to reach out to the unbanked,” he said.
“Milions of Africans have mobile phones, but only a small percentage of these people have access to bank accounts so these innovations will enhance this access by providing for opportunities for customers to open accounts and access their funds 24 hours using their phones,” he said.
The products were first launched in Lagos Nigeria in October last year.
