Mzuni FC reshuffle coaching panel

Mzuni FC have demoted their Assistant Coach, McNebert Kazuwa, to pave the way for Millias Pofera.

The former Dedza Young Soccer and Civo United mentor is set to work as Alex Ngwira’s deputy.

Pofera was spotted in Mzuzu on Monday ahead of his switch.

The Daily Times has learnt that Kazuwa is now drilling the team’s reserve side.

Kazuwa said he was “in the dark” about the club’s plans to hire another assistant coach.

The Northern Region Coaches Association Chairperson, who holds a Caf C Licence, was hired in 2015 on a two-year-contract.

“I was not told anything until I heard it from the media that Mzuni is hiring Jegwe [Pofera] as assistant coach,” he said.

Kazuwa confirmed that the club’s management directed him to start mentoring the reserve side in his free time.

“The coach has decided to be with someone else, so there is nothing else I can do,” he said, adding that his relationship with Ngwira was normal.

Mzuni Chairperson, Albert Harawa, confirmed that Kazuwa was now in charge of the reserve team.

Harawa reserved his comment on the justification of the reshuffle, saying he was only interested in talking about Pofera.

“Let us not change the topic because I know this is a trap. If you ask me about Jegwe, let it be about him only. Don’t bring in the issue to do with Kazuwa,” he insisted.
