Silver Strikers Coach, Lovemore Fazili, has said new players have adapted quickly to the Bankers’ system of play ahead of the new season.
Fazili said this after the Bankers trounced Moyale Barracks 5-2 in a Zikomo Foundation fundraising match at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday.
“We are not yet there but the old and new players combined well. If we continue playing the way we did against Moyale, I am sure we might have a good season,” he said.
Silver featured new signings—Hygiene Mwandepeka, Ghanaian Mike Tette, Frank Chizuze, Hadji Wali and Mphatso Chimtondo.
Victor Limbani grabbed a brace with the other goals coming from Chimtondo, Tette and Mathew Sibale whereas Gastin Sinkonda netted both goals for the soldiers.
In a post-match interview, Moyale Assistant Coach, Charles Kamanga, attributed the loss to a lapse in concentration.
Kamanga also praised his new players, including Charles Chirembo, Victor Gondwe and Gift Nyondo, saying they have added depth to the squad.
Zikomo Foundation organised the match to raise funds for Play Football Malawi Academy.
