Motorists to drive for free

Powertex Limited has introduced a promotion tagged Drive for Free aimed at rewarding both its existing and new customers. Powertex was established in 2014 and is involved in sales of motor vehicle batteries.

The promotion targets customers who purchased Powertex products between 2014 to date. To be eligible, the customers will be expected to produce a purchase receipt.

Powertex Chief Executive Officer, Itayi Chidzero, said they decided to run the promotion to give back to their customers.

“Three lucky winners will receive fuel cards loaded with 100 litres of fuel. Each winner will however, be entitled to redeem 20 litres of fuel a month from June to November.

“All we are asking for is a receipt which we gave them when they bought a battery. The promotion is open to everyone who bought batteries from us. In case they lost the receipt, they can bring the battery and we will check the serial number if it is from Powertex so that they should qualify to enter the draw,” he said.

Chidzero said the promotion is being run at Powertex outlets situated at Lilongwe City Centre, in Blantyre along Haile Sellaise Road and in Limbe along Churchill Road.

“Our customers appreciate that our products are durable. Since we started operating, we have been giving customers long lasting batteries that don’t require service at all,” he said.

The main draw of the promotion will be held in June this year.

Chidzero also said that penetration through the market has been tough but that they managed to break through within two years.

“It was tough to get customers for the first two years, but when customers realised that our batteries are durable, they started responding well,” Chidzero said.
