TNM Super League sides Silver Strikers and Moyale Barracks will lock horns on April 11 at Bingu National Stadium in a fundraiser for Play Football Academy of Lilongwe.
Zikomo Foundation has organised the game.
The foundation’s Head of Events and Fundraising, John Nyirenda said they opted for the two teams because they were passionate about the good cause.
“Silver and Moyale showed commitment to support the academy. We are on the verge of partnering a Super League team and our first venture is the game between Silver and Moyale. The teams will boost morale in our academy,” he said.
Nyirenda said the aim of the fundraiser was to mobilise and inspire football fans to engage in charitable causes.
The foundation will take care of most expenses for the teams.
The academy was established to give children a chance to harness their football potential.
The game could also offer the teams a chance to fine-tune ahead of the new season which kicks off next month.
Last season, Silver finished the TNM Super League on position three with 56 points whereas Moyale were on sixth place with 47 points.
