Big Bullets trustees u-turn

Feuding Nyasa Big Bullets’ camps yesterday moved quickly to meet conditions set by Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC) for the company to lift its suspension of the team’s sponsorship.

NMC suspended the club’s sponsorship after the resignation of the entire membership of the Board of Trustees and the appointment of an interim Executive Committee by the Supporters Committee.

The company stated that the sponsorship would resume once the turmoil at the club is resolved and upon being formally informed on the way forward by the trustees.

Trustees Chairperson, James Bussiley, who was the first to resign, said he had returned for the sake of the club.

“I am in touch with my fellow trustees. We are arranging a meeting to map the way forward. We do not want to kill the club we all love. But for more, talk to our Secretary [Jim Kalua],” Bussiley said.

Kalua confirmed that the trustees were communicating regularly and would meet to resolve the turmoil. He promises to issue a press statement.

Lipipa said he was playing the role of a mediator, adding “it is apparent that all the stakeholders trust me. I am working on bringing them to a round table. We cannot afford to lose this sponsorship.”
