Manganya splashes money on Kasungu patients

Comedia Michael Usi on Friday left the stage and dated people who did not have theature at the back of their mind when he cheered the sick and dished money at Kasungu District Hospital.

The money ranged from K3000 to K5000 per guardian.

The Blantyre-based Usi, stage-name Manganya, splashed money on patients and guardians and some hospital staff.

The visit was impromptu and took patients and guardians by surprise.

As he entered the wards, no introduction was made. It took time for some guardians and patients to realise that the ‘Good Samaritan’ was Manganya.

In some cases, others immediately recognised him and could not suppress their excitement but chanted: “Ooh Manganya!”

In an interview, Usi said: “I came to see patients at this hospital. People are suffering in this country. As for me, time for just talking is gone. It is time for action now. That is the path I have taken.”
