Arrows hail Chiukepo Msowoya

South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) side, Golden Arrows, have praised the work ethic of new Malawian signing, Chiukepo Msowoya.

Arrows’ General Manager, Gordon Masondo, on Monday commented on the performance of the former Nyasa Big Bullets’ captain when asked for an update about his signing.

“We are happy with him. He has done remarkably well,” Masondo said in a telephone interview from Durban.

“Over the weekend, we played against Amazulu and we got a hiding; they beat us 2-1. We also had a game against Umthatha Bush Bucks and drew 1-1. He [Chiukepo] did not score, but he did very well.”

The Nation newspaper reported last week that Chiukepo had signed a six-month contract, but Masondo was elusive when asked about the duration of the contract.

“That is confidential information between us and the player,” he insisted.

Bullets’ vice-Chairperson, Austin Kasito, recently indicated that the contract of Chiukepo, Fischer Kondowe and Chikumbutso Kanyenda would end next month.

Chiukepo was Bullets’ leading scorer having scored 17 in the TNM Super League. He joins at Arrows Flames’ captain, Limbikani Mzava.
