Bidvest Wits Coach Gavin Hunt has bemoaned the impotence of his strikers, including Malawian Gabadinho Mhango, during the South Africa Premier Soccer League team’s 2-0 loss to SuperSport United on Tuesday night.
Wits succumbed to goals from Clayton Daniels and Thabo Mnyamane at Mbombela Stadium in a match Hunt felt they could have easily won.
“It is disappointing, to be fair we had the best chances,” Hunt told SuperSport TV.
“We could have made it 2 or 3-0 before they ever scored. It should have been 2-0, I mean the opportunities that Daine [Klate] and Mhango had and the other one, I mean gee whizz. So we had two or three great chances.”
Wits are third on the table with 20 points from nine games – level with United and one point behind Cape Town City, who have both played two extra matches.
Mhango has had a dream start to his career at Wits having scored three league goals and bagged four man-of-the match awards in the league and cup games.
