South African Airways sponsors travel agents to cape Town

South African Airways (SAA) has funded a familiarisation trip for travel agents to visit the airline’s facilities in Cape Town, South Africa.

The agents are also expected to tour South Africa’s tourist attraction centres. At a press briefing to announce the package, SAA Acting Country Manager, Lawrence Gwaza, said the sponsorship is meant to reward the agents for the business they give to the airline.

“We get about 67 percent of our indirect business through travel consultants. This means we must reward them through this incentive,” he said.

Gwaza further said the tour will enable the consultants gain knowledge of SAA products in South Africa.

“The tour will provide enablers to them hence they will be able to deliver good service,” he said.

One of the travel consultants, Mike Mkangadzula of Rennies Travel, thanked SAA for sponsoring the trip.

“I am very excited and I know I will gain a lot of knowledge about South African Airways and its products in South Africa and I will be able to tell the clients reliable information on tourist attraction places in South Africa,” he said.

The Travel Consultants will be in South Africa for three days and are expected back in the country on Saturday.
