Franco Ndawa has, for the first time, commented on his dismissal as head coach for TNM Super League defending champions, Nyasa Big Bullets.
“I thank the players and the supporters for the good time we had at Bullets. I signed a three-year contract and if I failed, let the contract speak for me. I won the Presidential Cup and the league is in progress. Let the people assess my performance,” Ndawa said.
Commenting very reluctantly, the former Red Lions and Be Forward Wanderers mentor, insisted that he will take a breather from football.
“I was born a football person and I will die in football. Likewise, I was born a soldier and I will die a soldier,” he added.
Ndawa signed a performance-based contract with a target of winning at least two trophies. He was sacked after Bullets’ exit from the Carlsberg Cup. Bullets finished sixth on Super League first round table with 25 points.
Bullets’ Acting-General Secretary, Kelvin Moyo, on Monday said Ndawa would serve a one-month notice before dismissal.
