FMB says it is working towards enhancing its bill payment platforms as one way of making their services more easily accessible to the people.
Among others, FMB is encouraging the use of mobile platforms and its ATM platform to settle utility bills and other important transactions people have to make on a daily basis.
FMB’s Head of Alternate Channels and Product Development, Lumbani Manda, said the creation of the alternative channels has already attracted positive reaction from customers.
“We recognise the need of our customers’ convenience and we are willing to communicate that it is possible to do all the transactions for free. The transactions are not only there to ensure that there is money moving, but serve the customers,” he said.
According to Manda, the bank already sealed deals with various utility service providers including the Electicity Supply Corporation (Escom) and all the water boards to create a conducive platform through which its clients are able to access their services at ease.
He said FMB customers are now able to make their bill payments through all FBM ATM machines countrywide.
Our task as a bank is to ease the pressure that our customers have been facing in doing other necessary transactions and such initiatives have proven viable,” he said.
