National Bank of Malawi (NBM) on Monday held celebrations to recognise the contribution of two of its longest serving employees who have retired after serving the bank for 37 years.
The two, Facilities Manager, Isaac Kaneka, and Ignatius Kamthunzi, a Referral Officer joined the bank in 1979 and have been instrumental in the construction of the NBM Towers, among other achievements.
Speaking at the farewell event in Blantyre, NBM Chief Executive Officer, George Partridge, hailed the two officers for their dedication.
“You have worked hard and with dedication and the bank became more of a family to you. I am sure others will emulate your good example and we wish you all the best during your retirement,” said Partridge.
Both Kaneka and Kamthunzi then called on NBM employees to maintain high levels of integrity and make a positive contribution to the growth of the bank going forward.
